Hybrid polarizers once manufactured by Atlantic Microwave are available from Cobham Sensor Systems (Exeter NH). The reciprocal devices can convert circular polarization to linear and can separate left-hand from right-hand polarization. Typical isolation is 25 dB, insertion loss is 0.05 dB, VSWR is 1.15:1 and elipticity is 0.5 dB.
Our orthomode junctions are normally used as an antenna feed component because of its ability to receive and separate two cross-polarized signals. It is also used in systems that require switchable polarization or when it is necessary to use a common feed for both transmission and reception.
