04 Series Questions

• Yes, the HDTV Converter Kit (P/N 123575), is required to view HDTV for DirecTV on the 110 W satellite. I & O Procedure

• Yes, refer to the 124238-2 (2 Coax Switch) or the 124238-4 (4 Coax Switch) Procedures.

• To make a full evaluation, we need the following information along with a full failure analysis for any xx03/04 Installations:
  1. Compass type (GPS, Flux Gate, Gyro, None)
     To help determine Satellite Reference or Gyro Reference mode
  2. Auto Threshold setting
     Calculate the Difference between Peak AGC and Noise Floor AGC. AUTO THRES should be set to 1/3 to ½ of the Difference.
  3. Gyro Type setting
     Determined by Compass type
  4. System Type setting
     Reference section 5 in the DAC2000 manual for setting options
  5. On satellite AGC reading
     Peak on Satellite AGC reading, Tracking on, NID decoded or Video produced on TV
  6. Off satellite AGC reading
     Drive antenna elevation 10 to 15 degrees above targeted position
  7. Remote Monitor response to Remote Command of "S0000" (For xx03 system, use decimal 83 to get "S0000" command)
     Use Comm diagnostics (under tools tab) on DacRemP to get Remote Monitor Response
     You can download the latest version of DacRemP on the Diagnostic Tools page
     Use "?S" command and record response

  In some cases, the following may be required:
  8. El Step Size
     Sets Elevation Conscan sensitivity or the Step Track trial movement size. Series 04 factory default for is 0
  9. AZ Step Size
     Sets azimuth Conscan sensitivity or the Step Track trial movement size. Series 04 factory default is 0
  10. Step Integral
      Sets the integration time for Tracking Mode. Series 04 factory default is 0
  11. Search Delay
      Sets the time-out for automatic initiation of a search after the signal level drops below threshold. Units are in seconds. Range is 0-255 seconds. 0000 disables the automatic search feature
