The LOTUS Positioning System has been developed, in the frame of TGV (high-speed train) experimental train localization system.
The project consists on positioning the train with GPS, monitoring its position with on-board network and transmitting the data by the GSM network.
LOTUS transmits positioning , delay information and TGV status. The TGV missions data are downloaded without intervention from the machinist.
Today, the system is installed on TGV trains operating in Europe.
